Drinks that are cold and deliciously boozy are the best choice for summer’s hottest days. Is there a better way to beat the heat than cold drinks? We’ve collected some of our favorite frozen cocktails, from classic to innovative, to cool you lots of options to cool down.
Coco Batida
This recipe features Brazil’s national spirit, cachaca. Cachaca is a spirit similar to rum, distilled from sugarcane rather than molasses. This allows it to be used with tropical flavors such as coconut. Mix equal amounts of coconut cream, condensed milk, and cachaca. Add a little simple syrup and Ice to make a creamy, boozy treat that you will want to enjoy all summer.
Strawberry Daiquiri
This is not the artificially flavored, saccharine-laden drink chains have served for decades. This homemade frozen version is made with rum, lime, and real strawberries, which provide a natural sweetness. Make sure you don’t use too much rum to overpower the lighter flavor of fresh fruit.
Pearl Diver
This cocktail is created by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. It features a Gardenia mix, which gives the drink a spicy sweetness due to honey and butter, vanilla, spices, and vanilla. Mix it with two types of rum, lime, orange, and bitters. Garnish with an edible orchid or a pineapple leaf for a trip to Tiki heaven.
Frozen Absinthe Frppe
Absinthe is a refreshing base for this blended beverage. The anise spirit’s herbaceous flavors combine with simple syrup, mint extract, and Ice to create a refreshing blend that will take you into a state of minty coolness.
Tasman Sea
This drink is a Tiki classic, created by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. It consists of orange curacao juice, lemon and lime juices, and demerara syrup. However, the emphasis is on the 151-proof rum so that any glass will do.
Frozen Daiquiri
The Daiquiri classic is served hot, not frozen. If you are craving something cold and boozy, it is fine to forget authenticity and put the ingredients in a blender with some ice. You get familiar flavors with simple syrup, lime juice, and rum. This blend has a pleasant, slushy texture.
Miami Vice
You can have a Pina Colada if you want! Strawberry Daiquiri, because who doesn’t love Strawberry Daiquiri? You’ll love this drink. It combines the best of both rum cocktails in one glass.
Bourbon, Vanilla & Chocolate Milkshake
This adult version of your childhood milkshakes will make you feel like a child again. It combines ice cream and booze to create a dessert and nightcap. This recipe makes four servings, so gather a few friends, some vanilla ice cream and whole milk, and mix.

This gin-based Tiki cocktail will take you out of the ordinary. Garret Richard, a New York City tropical-drink expert, says it has the “regality of a Mai Tai with a drinkability of a Tom Collins”, so it’s bound to please everyone. Combine gin with passion fruit syrup, lemon juice, falernum, and a scoop of Ice. Serve in a Tiki Mug garnished with an edible Flower and an Orange Twist.

Don’t fix what’s broken. This classic Margarita cocktail combines the popular Margarita mix of orange liqueur, tequila and lime juice with Ice to create a smooth, slushy version of the drink. You can easily make it large enough to enjoy with friends. Multiply the ingredients by the number of people you have.
